The Center for Advanced Heart Care located at the University of Kansas Hospital is expanding. The scope of the project includes adding 2 floors of Inpatient Beds, 1 floor for Outpatient Cath Recovery and Conference space and expanding mechanical space for a total expansion of 111,200 sf. Levels 7 and 8 will be added to allow the expansion of 64 acuity adaptable patient rooms. The design will allow the acuity of beds to flex based on the needs. Each 32 bed Inpatient Unit will utilize the existing Inpatient Unit footprint as a basis for design. Additionally, level 6 will be expanded as mechanical to support the new addition. A portion of Level 6 will remain un-occupied based on accessibility. Level 9 will added and planned as a new 20 bed Cath Outpatient Recovery (CTR) unit and a new 7,200 sf Conference center.
